Some serious claims on sea levels rising. 60 years all of iceland could melt rising world sea levels 20-30 inches. flooding most coastal cities in the world.

Great show on HBO.

Claims to be 60 years ahead of the worst case data scenario from 5 years ago.

Why isn't there any coastal flooding then?
Interesting thing, fill a glass with ice to the rim and let the ice melt. It's a fun experiment.

It's too fucking late and I'm too fucking disinterested to really try to put forth a good deal of effort to figure out if there is something to it, but something about freshwater icebergs melting into saltwater oceans, compounded by the part of icebergs floating vs parts not floating (e.g., underneath the surface) have, at the very least, a slight effect on the typical outcome of Archimedes' Theory of Displacement in that it could actually cause sea levels to rise, though I don't think to any level of real consequence ... I'm even less interested in it now having typed that crap.

Whatever the case is, I'm sure it's not just alarmist bullshit for the sake of being alarmist; somebody somewhere gains something out of this shit whatever the actual outcome ends up being. Someone smart like you, or Psycory, pittmike, dolphin, Midget, doug, denisdman?, newper? (I'm sorry if you belong in that pile of people and I didn't mention you; you know who you are even if I don't ... and if you don't belong there then shut up and enjoy it, jerk) can probably codify all that crap and either shitcan it or bear it out to something useful and digestable.

tl;dr - mixed medium may alter preconceived notions of the physical universe as we imperfectly understand it .... except the idea of flooding on a global scale being remotely possible sure smells like bullshit.

Future generations are going to laugh at the projections of all coastal cities being flooded in X years. It's called a wall, and we are pretty good at building them.

Vice and the people they interviewed accounted for this. There are many countries that will not be able to handle the financial commitment.

Those countries can just enslave some more brick-makers to get the job done.

The Maldives are basically going to cease to exist. Or is it the Seychelles? Or both?
