Probably won't hear much about this film because its only big draw would be that daniel ratcliffe is in it. I'd like to say this is a diamond in the rough but it never really reaches takeoff because the tone is all over the place. horror comedy is hard to pull off, but you have to be committed to it in order to do it...alexandre aja has made it work in the "piranha" remake but he's also failed miserably like in the "hills have eyes" remake. here the one thing that does work is ratcliffe's performance. he's perfect, and has shown a growth as an actor that i never really expected.

the story is pretty straight forward but the gimmick of him growing horns that only bad people can see just doesn't come through consistently and hearing people's inner dark thoughts don't seem to pay off as much as it felt like it should. it strives to be a complex film but i don't think the material was handled strongly enough. it's a shame but it's not a total waste of time.
