New series on AMC that debuts tonight about an American spy ring set around the American Revolution. I don't really know much more than that, but that's enough to at least get me to DVR the pilot episode. Anyone else gonna watch this?

I'm DVRing it too. Will probably watch later this week. Combines two of my favorites: spies and the american revolution.

I just watched the pilot. It's a bit slow, but most pilots are. The set and costumes feel like they are pretty historically accurate. I'm sure many Redcoats were assholes, but they're almost cartoonish in how villainous they are portrayed so far, except for their commander. I liked that they showed the continental army as being assholish too so it's not a mundane good vs evil storyline. Overall it seems like a decent start to the show and I expect it to get a lot better as most of the pilot was just setting up all the characters and storylines. They really didn't touch on the spy stuff too much yet.

I thought the show picked up in the last ten/fifteen minutes. Before that it was slow.
Also, I thought the title theme song was awful. The title animation was cool, the song was awful.

 Yeah I forgot to mention that. Just a terrible choice for a theme song.

I hope they got all the necessary foundation laying out of the way. The guerrilla ambush on the redcoats scene was pretty cool, I'd like to see more of that and the actual spy stuff. I do like how they are setting up the main character so you can see how much of a struggle it is for him to choose a side and realizing he can't stay uninvolved.

You catch the new episode yet Cory?

I really liked the new character Rogers. Hope we get a lot more of him. But that also illuminates a problem I have with this show - the main character, Abe, is kind of dull. I don't yet know if it's the actor's fault or the writer's. There's still enough really good scenes to keep me regularly watching though, and the teaser for next week's episode looked really good. My favorite scenes this week were with the Redcoat officer who was held prisoner and his interactions with his captors. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.

If they feature a prostitute with cocaine at some point they will be hitting 4 for 4.

Nailed it!

Yes, I caught it, I was excited in the first episode when I saw Rodgers as a QR, but didn't expect him to become such an integral character in the second episode, I thought he was going to be an interesting b story. However, it is funny to see Robert the Bruce playing a part in the Queen's Rangers

Abe is boring and unnecessarily conflicted about his involvement. However, the other characters are interesting, maybe he will become more interesting when (my prediction, not a spoiler) his child/wife are killed. Then he might go all breaking bad on the british.

i watched the opening title sequence. the song is like..."the rains of castamere". the animation reminded me of a lot of HBO TV openings.
