Can anyone give me a rundown on what the premise is supposed to be here? Has Batman become a villain, or Superman, or both maybe?
I don't know the comics that well but just looking for some clarification. The trailer looks decent but doesn't give me much to go on.

It's borrowing in tone from "The Dark Knight Returns" one of the graphic novels that changed the industry. If you have never read it, I highly recommend it.

As for the actual movie, from what I know, some of the world is thankful for what Superman did in Man of Steel (stopping Zod & the world engine) while others are pissed for the destruction and lives lost. Those voices will be seemingly led by one Lex Luthor. In this world, not only will Batman exist but so will Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Green Lantern and Cyborg.

Someone, (don't want to spoil it) feels that Batman is the key to bringing these heroes/gods under human control. I don't know exactly what will cause the rift between the two, but I believe it's Superman who takes the fight to Batman and Gotham. Don't quote me on that though. There's so much information and disinformation out there. Let's just sit back and enjoy the ride. History is being made.

I would guess it's that Superman like doing things by the book properly, and Batman will cut a corner or two when he sees fit ... argument of personal vs group morality. I think. I don't know. Call Leery.

Wouldn't superman just easily murder batman with his super heat vision and be done with it in 2 seconds?

100%.

In one version I'm aware of, Superman made sure Bruce/Batman had a significant cache of Kryptonite just in case Superman went out of his gourd or something.

Apparently Matches says I'm wrong ... I would listen to him.

I'm still struggling to get over how stupid this name sounds.

It makes me think of some of those terrible Godzilla movies.

Many thanks, this makes some sense to me and explains what we see in the trailer. Interested to see what sets Superman off to go after Batman if that in fact is true.

Yes this is true. The kryptonite is given to Bruce by Clark himself for the aforementioned just in case scenario. I'm guessing that iconic moment will be shown in the movie.

Doesn't Batman have files on how to defeat all his JLA teammates?

Green Lantern = yellow
Wonder Woman = no idea
Martian Manhunter = fire
Green Arrow = he's mortal
Aqua Man = take him to Iowa

One of the best story arc in JLA history. Even has plans on how to take himself down if he gets out of hand.

Why is there a need for super heroes other than Superman? He is a five-tool super hero. He can do anything.

All he has to do is change the rotation of the Earth, and go back in time.

That only worked in the 70's. Today's supervillians got time travel on lock-down.

This opinion is comicbook correct but not movie correct. The plot is half the world sees Supes as a savior while the other half want him stopped because they hold him responsible for the terrible destruction of Metropolis in the last movie.

It's amazing looking in HD. Rumor has it the look and feel of the teaser is Batman's point of view and the next trailer will be from Supes. Outstanding work. With Snyder you know the movie at the very least is going to look good. Hell, the look of Watchmen (Underrated) was unbelievable and I'm sure this will be the same.

Affleck has been hitting the gym no?

Sounds more like Kingdom Come more than Dark Knight Returns.

Supes has another vulnerbility besides Kryptonite. Magic, Wonder Womans stuff works on him very well. Her sword cuts him.

If you are a Dcfan please read Kindom Come. Great read and a lot of it is set in Chicago. It has a battle long time coming Supes vs Marvel. Plus It is just so cool.

The skyline looks Chicago+.

Filmed most of it in Detroit, including at Detroit's abandoned version of Union Station:
