Unexpectedly had to spend the last two days at Northwestern Hospital downtown, but at least saw a good movie: Captain America II. It's a frickin classic, maybe the best superhero movie ever made. Really strange to see Robert Redford as the bad guy, but he did a great job. Script was dark and interesting.
Definitely thumbs up from me, thumbs up from Ebert from the grave.
Hope everything is alright.
I'm doing better now, had a scare with two infections. It turns out I am allergic to chocolate big time. It a predisposing food for Staph because it increases production in the body of something called interleukin 10, a chemical which is thought by scientists to lower our bodies defenses against micro-organisms. The doctors got the treatment right, but not the cause, even after I told them I had broken out after eating chocolate. There was a study done by Dutch researchers in 2013 between chocolate and interleukin 10, publicized in an article from the Huffington Post that I became aware of today, which describes the link to Staph. Amazing but true. I've always been that way with chocolate, though I could never have dreamnt that I was at risk for something far worse than just pimples. Can never touch chocolate again.
Here's the article if anyone cares.
