I'm flipping channels the other day and couldn't believe the conversation the loud guy and the old guy opened up with: the 2-7 Dallas Cowboys.

The old guy felt Romo was going to bring them back and feigned excitement. The problem is how do you lead off a national sports TV show with talk of the Dallas Cowboys?

i think this show stays relevant because people hate watch.... if you stay away from ESPN's non live sports programming you don't have to deal with contrived yelling matches like this show

The show would be more watchable if it was 30 minutes instead of 2 hours. That's a tough gig to feign anger that long.

They always talk Cowboys because Bayless thinks he is an expert/insider on the organization since he used to be Aikman's bottom during their Super Bowl run.

yeah skip loves to go on and on about "his cowboys" who he had being the #1 team in the NFC this year and rah rah rah, then when romo went down in week 2 it was just "win a few games and you're ok in the NFC LEAST" and then as dallas embarked on a rather heroic losing streak it's been more and more romo deification because skipperoo, god bless his soul, STILL thinks they're the best team in the NFC with romo and their inability to win a game without him has only cemented the deification of one tony romo.

skip always loves to pick some people to love unconditionally and predict greatness for (tim tebow, johnny manziel) and ride it out to the bitter end. you figure he's doing a bit cuz the counterpoint is always stephen A screaming at him in some tryhard/wanna-be-memorable way and in the end you basically get "the view" for men/sports, just with way more edge and canned opinions (gee i better tune in to see how skip is hating on "prince james" today!")

and of course bernstein's rosebud is that he's trying to recreate this "embrace debate" concept with his callers, with the caveat that given his lofty position he can easily shout them down and claim victory to further embolden his army of ALS.
