The year's Best Picture and...it's decent. It just kind of moves along, and you learn a lot about how journalists actually had to do their job before they could just go on Twitter and fuck around, and blog. Instead of just passive aggressively dropping bombshells, you actually had to do work. And Mark Ruffalo's character did work his ass off...

This film is not all that powerful, meaning it's not about big moments. But it is important to see how the Boston Globe story about the Catholic church helped bring the issue to the public. So it is an important piece of historical drama. It's just not that intense. So if you're up to kill about 2 hours and find out about how sick the Catholic church has been...go for it. Just keep in mind it's not all that thrilling, so expect a lot of dialog and journalism related "action".

Well acted, well written enough. The most powerful part is right at the end, when you see how far this thing stretched. It's pretty eye opening.

:D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D

For a movie about breaking a story over a year or so, whatever it was, I for what it's worth thought the film did a good job to keep things interesting. For example I remember being genuinely crestfallen (within the universe of the movie - we all know what ultimately happened in real life) when it appeared Keaton's team would be barred from obtaining the smoking gun documents they were seeking, etc. I think it keeps things as compelling as possible while trying to stick closely to the facts about a breaking story at the Globe.
