Heard the interview today. I don't know if it was because he was talking to Chicago radio, but Hart certainly seemed to be saying that the Brewers consider the Cubs a rival and they get up for each meeting. To which Silvy basically said that there is no rivalry and for the Cubs it's just another game.

Surely it's making something out of nothing, but I thought it was funny.

I thought he was just indicating that the rivalry was not yet at the level of the Cubs/Cardinals rivalry. I think in just a few years, if both teams remain contenders as they are now, the rivalry will be just as strong. The proximity of the teams, makes it easier for fans to travel to one another's park. That really stirs things up. I have gone to many games at Miller Park and am going to the game on July 30th coming up. I remember when half the fans (or more) would be Cubs fans, up there. But now that they have a better team, the numbers have changed. I would guess that only 20% of the fans are now Cubs fans, for games there. Its lacking the history of the Cards rivalry, but it's catching up quick. The only thing that might squash it, is if the Brewers lose both Sabathia and Sheets in the off season to free agency and fall back in the pack as a result. The rivalry depends on both teams being contenders, to reach full potential.
