I have listened to the show on and off since it went to mornings. To this point, I'm disappointed. I find the "bickering" excessive and not very entertaining. I was never a big fan of Silvy but I was willing to give him a chance in a different format. I just don't like the tone of the show, for lack of a better explanation.

I was quite excited about their move to mornings. I hope the show tones down the "Bickersons" aspect of the show.

My problem is with all of Waddle's non-sequitirs - he will just go off on tangents and derail anything that is going. I don't understand it. Silvy tries to get him back on track, but it is still wasted time. Was he like this on WGN too? I never listened.

I find the show very entertaining. I enjoy Waddles sense of humor. He can get off track a bit sometimes, but I think Silverman does a good job steering the show back on course. Maybe Salisbury & Rosenblum were so awful that I'm not sure what good is anymore. But I think the guys are starting to put together a pretty good show.

I'm with you, Ivan. I think this show had a bit of a rocky start, and I can see Ken's point, but I think it's finding its way now. I've laughed several times listening to this show, and have yet to scream at my radio like I occasionally would while listening to S&R.

I still like it, but the derailments when they are about to talk about something I'm interested in can be aggravating. I do think it makes for a fun show when they include the guests in Tom's tangents (sounds like a segment!)

Yes he was. I like the Kaplan show. But the last year or so, Waddle often made it unlistenable. He is lazy, with little prep and just continually interrupts and goes on tangents. At least he did, and it sounds like he still does.

I'm not done with the show or anything. I just wish they would eliminate that aspect of their "chemistry". It bugs me and I don't think it is good radio.

Well, compare it to the interaction between Salisbury and Dolgin! Now that was uncomfortable/irritating.

I've enjoyed the show. It's not perfect yet, but I can listen without getting a migrane and Im thankful for that.

I don't like Silvy. Waddle doesn't have anything in particular to say. The best thing about the show is the fact that Uncle Rico is gone.

Over the weekend I heard John Clayton sucking off Uncle Rico who was doing the show from his golf outing in San Diego.
I've had nightmares every night since then.
That voice still makes me very angry.

I think Silvy would agree with everything said here. I think Waddle needs to try and stop making something between the two that isn't there. The bickering is so out of place and stupid on Waddle's part. Let it develop. You don't just create chemistry out of thin air on the radio. Either it's there right off the bat because of the hosts' personalities or it develops and builds over time. It's a marathon Waddle, not a sprint. Of course the third option is that chemistry is never formed...I could name a few shows...

one thing i will say that i do miss about the silvy/carmen duo is that, for baseball season anyway, you had two people representing both fanbases. It was nice to have equal amounts of talk about both the White Sox and the Cubs because you had two genuine die hard fans. Waddle is not from Chicago, and is a Reds fan. I know Silvy's a professional, but he's also a fan, and even though he does an okay job talking about the White Sox, I'd like to hear a White Sox fan perspective, like you get with Mac. You get so much more out of the broadcast that way--and you get an honest take on the team with no holding back. Waddle can only give an outsider's view on pretty much all of the teams, except possibly the Bears (but that's only because he played for them).

I do agree that Waddle seems to be forcing things, too.
