Yes, OK, I get it that you guys want to make it painfully clear to Torii that the White Sox are making him their #1 target. But still, the way Silvy went about conducting the interview made it quite awkward. When Silvy asked him about the money and Torii just said "I don't want to get into that" Silvy pushed the envelope. The guy said he didn't want to talk about it.

Then playing the Go-Go White Sox song and telling him "I want you to learn this", it made for unsettling radio.

Then the final nail in the coffin when he said "Just promise us WHEN you sign that you'll be back on", not IF. And Torii's response was "IF that happens I'll give you guys first dibs".

If nothing else the guy showed remarkable restraint during a difficult interview. Silvy has done much better.

Playing the Go-Go White Sox song might backfire on them. Torii might be too embarrased to play for a team whose song is that.

Silvy did, and laughed at him on the air. Come on, with all the concussions Waddle has, give him a break. At least he can SOMETIMES speak coherently. :wink:
