Didn't have a chance to listen long, but heard one segment. Good listen today. Anyone know who that was filling in for Silvy? How did the rest of the show sound?

It was Pat Boyle from Comcast. The show sounded real good, though they did rip on Silvy an awful lot.

Comcast's Pat Boyle. It was good; Boyle is surprisingly good on radio.

I agree. I like hearing Boyle on the radio, but I don't think he should drive.

I was going to post about this. I've never heard Pat Boyle before, but I really enjoyed the show the last two days with him filling in for Silvy. His style is markedly different from Silvy's, and it sounded more like two grown men doing a show instead of one grown man and someone who generally sounds like a H.S./college-aged girl.

Anyway, thumbs up to Comcast's Pat Boyle.

It kind of creeped me out that another man answered Silvy's phone.

...and his reaction to the wake up call was lame.

This is the same guy that has given coworkers 'wake up calls' on the radio for several years.... I've heard it as a WEEKLY BIT on his Sunday morning show a few years ago, and I heard him wake Harry up too at Bears Camp.

Waddle seems to not pick on Waddle the way he does with Silvy.

ESPN 1000 should sign Boye (if Comcast lets them) to some sort of deal, maybe for the 12:00 p.m. slot (wishful thinking, I know). I'm just thinking that The Score could sneak in and sign this guy if ESPN 1000 doesn't.

Wow... I butchered that post of mine.

Clarification. Waddle didn't pick on Boyle or give him a hard time the way he does to Silvy.

Boyle has some talent. ESPN 1000 should have him on regularly in some capacity before The Score takes him (if Comcast SportsNet would permit it).

Nothing special in the first segment. Didn't hear anymore after 9:20. Of course they made fun of Silvy at the start of the show - must be too easy over there.

So because Waddle picks on Silvy and can't do anything else clever on air with that time, then your idea is to kick Silvy out of the booth for Boyle.

Maybe Waddle should hold his on-air performance to a higher standard regardless of his co-host?

Took me a second too, Ryan. He thinks you were asking if he would rather have Waddle cut back on the attacks on Silvy or have Salisbury return to the slot. I don't think so, but I've been wrong before.

I never suggested Boyle should replace Silvy, if you were referring that to me.

Waddle and Silvy has grown on people, so I don't think the station should tinker with it. It only took the station four attempts after Tony Kornheisar to have a local program on in that spot that would last over a year.

I get bored with people ripping on Silvy all the time and sometimes I feel bad for him. Then again, some of his twatty behavior brings it on himself.

It really is amazing how much abuse Silvy takes at his station. The first day Waddle worked with him he started with the "Silvy is a burrito" jokes. I heard this Pat Boyle early in the week join in on the Silvy bashing. He's a sub for christ sake. Even he takes the liberty to abuse Silvy MJH have been doing it for years. His old buddy Carm even joins in on it now.

One of Silvy's problem is he doesn't fight back. Sometimes he tries to but his come backs are weak. He just doesn't have a quick wit.

I feel bad for him too. He does tend to open himself up for these shots by some of his weird comments.

I think it's funny, but I think a lot of that is because he's so damned good-natured about it. Dude's a goof; not like an idiot or anything, but the type of guy that always finds a rake to step on.

Silvy is probably just confident enough in his manhood where their jokes don't bother him. He probably feels if he just takes it like a good sport he ends up looking better than if he bitched about it. It's probably the best way to handle it.

His problem is he goes to Mexico and shares a room with another dude!

If people are going to pick on you anyways, then its silly to fight back because it makes you look like a pansy, and you are going to lose every single time. Too bad OG couldn't grasp that concept.

Difference between OG And Silvy though... for Silvy, it's all in good one over there - I think.
