Morbidly speaking, as an athlete who suffered his share of head injuries, will we witness the mental deterioration of Tom Waddle on the air? I worry about the guy. I didn't listen to the show today, but he's got to be real uncomfortable hearing all the news on DD and other players.

I don't worry about it, but he talked about how he can forget things he talked about 5 mins ago

I kind of wonder if alcohol makes it worse. Waddle sounds like he boozes a lot.

Alcohol has never made anything worse.

I don't think he is even close to a heavy drinker. I would say he is a weekend night, wine drinker and thats it.

My grandma was hit by a car when I was younger. My mom and aunt both say she wasn't the same after and never handled her alcohol quite as well. Moderate drinking has an affect on the brain and leads to short–term impairment. If it's already damaged, does it worsen the condition? I'm not saying he is close to Rodman like levels, it was just more of the thought.

My dad would probably say he was not a heavy drinker, but I would. It's not a judgement, I wouldn't call him an alcoholic but he probably drinks more than the average person.

Waddle doesn't strike me as a heavy drinker.

If you really are concerned about someone with the combo of NFL hits and heavy booze consumption worry about this guy. I don't need a lab to cut him open. We see what it's done to him every time he's on TV or radio.

Nice. My mom and I could drive anybody to drink.
