That's a pretty good description, W_Z. I wonder if that's her regular speaking voice or if she thinks that sounds sexy to the overwhelming male demographic that listens to the station? She doesn't sound like that all the time and it can even vary from update to update.

i grow weary very quickly of any "i'm just one of the boys!" type of chicks and that's how she strikes me. i think that's her normal speaking voice...on FB she is fairly normal but a lot of her pictures suggest she's very aware of her huge tracts of land but insists she's just the cool chick who can quote the movie you didn't think she'd know (which would probably be "the wedding crashers" or "old school").

the whole thing smacks of effort, man.

I feel like woman in sports radio are in a really bad position, where even when they try to sound professional the male hosts do this "SO TELL ME ABOUT YOUR BOSOMS" thing that is very uncomfortable, both for me and the female hosts. So half of them don't bother and just act like sexbags from the get-go, and the other half chuckle it off nervously. I guess she decided to go the first route.

i know no one wants to hear about my love of WIP, but honestly there's a woman on the morning show named Rhea that is one of the best personalities on the radio because she knows what she's talking about, and doesn't take shit for being a woman. she knows more about philly sports than 90% of the fans and fellow hosts, and she's also pretty attractive. and the guy that is the main host is a total chauvinist (like mike north) and even he treats her with respect. while you are correct for the most part, there are still ways you can make yourself a presence without necessarily going those routes...just gotta be strong. i will admit it's harder for a woman than a man but it can be done.
