Anyone who still listens to this show notice today how many times Sean mentioned Lou Piniella, and how it doesn't matter what his knowledge of the city is, it only matters the type of job he'll do ?

He must have mentioned that at least 3 or 4 times today this piont....anyone else think he's using Piniella's arrival as a way to justify himself doing the show from other cities ?

Not to defend Sean, but who cares what Lou knows about Chicago, you think he should have been given a history test before accepting the job. All those complaints just reek of 2nd city syndrome.

I agree that if I'm a Cubs fan, the only thing that matters to me is if they win games, not if knows the ins and outs of the city.

I don't listen much to Sean/Rosenbloom's show, but I have heard that complaint about Salisbury more than a few times, and I apply the same logic to him - if the show's a good listen, I don't care if he's in Alaska....from when I have listened, it hasn't been very good though.

The reason that people hold it against Cakes is that he is constantly trying to pull off that he lives here and is a "Chicago guy" which he most obviously is not.

Lou doesn't need to know this city, he just needs to know baseball. But, didn't Jim Leyland say, when taking the Tigers job, that he didn't know anything about the AL and that he'd have to figure it out as he went? Seems like he did OK.
