Anybody listening to Ditka back pedal this morning? "Of course I'm rooting for the Bears". Not that I care who he's rooting for, but is it too much to ask for someone to stick to their guns these days?

They replayed that on Comcast Sportsnite, how sad was that. From what he said yesterday to 'of course I'm cheering for the Bears, like have been all season.' And then the jinx excuse was pathetic. Sounds like the real people who run that restaurant bitched Mike out

One reason I hope the Bears win the superbowl is so people stop treating Ditka like a Golden God of football.

That may be part of it, Nas, but it's a little more than just that, IMHO. He's a character through and through. There have been plenty of meat and potatoes guys in the city. There's only one DITKA.

That's not to say Lovie isn't respected and admired. He's a class act. It just means that Da Coach isn't going anywhere in the wake of it all. Someone else suggested that he'll be in front of every mic next week in Miami. True. His star will rise even more. He knows how to work the room.
