When Erin Andrews starts her new job as studio host of "FOX College Football Pregame" before the network's live coverage of the Hawaii/USC opener at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum September 1st, she won't be alone.

FOX Sports Co-President/COO/Executive Producer Eric Shanks announced that College Football Hall of Famer Eddie George & former Oregon QB Joey Harrington will serve as analysts alongside Ms. Andrews inside the FOX Network Center in Los Angeles Saturday nights before the network airs 13 consecutive weeks & 12 primetime college football games starting with the USC/Hawaii game on September 1st.

For George, this will be his second tour of duty with FOX Sports. He worked in that same L.A. studio from 2007-2009 when FOX had the contract to air the controversial Bowl Championship Series. George, the 1995 Heisman Trophy winner at Ohio State, worked alongside Jimmy Johnson, Emmitt Smith, Barry Switzer & host Chris Rose on the network's "BCS on FOX" pre, halftime & postgame shows for 3 seasons. George was drafted #14 overall in the 1996 NFL Draft and played for the former Houston Oilers in 1996, as well as when the team relocated as the Tennessee Titans from 1997-2003. George ended his NFL career in 2004 with the Dallas Cowboys. Eddie is one of only 30 players in NFL history to rush for over 10,000 career yards.

As for Harrington, we all remember the Detroit Lions drafted Joey with the #3 overall NFL Draft pick in 2002 out of the University of Oregon. He played with the Lions until 2005 before stints with the Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons & New Orleans Saints before retiring from the NFL in 2009 when the Saints cut him. Harrington then shifted to broadcasting like many other former players. Harrington became an NFL & college football analyst for FOX Sports Radio starting in 2009 before signing on as a radio analyst for Oregon football broadcasts in 2010 on the Oregon Sports Network.

Eddie George and Joey Harrington? Lots of personality on that panel.

It seems like a letdown to me. Joey Harrington is one of the biggest flops in recent NFL history & I haven't heard Joey's radio work since he retired.

When FOX Sports started airing "FOX College Football" last fall on FX as well as on FOX Sports Net regionals, including Comcast SportsNet Chicago locally, they had Hall of Fame RB Marcus Allen in the L.A. studio with host Kevin Frazier, on loan from "The Insider."
