Have your pencil and scorecard ready, fans. FOX Sports has made the following announce teams for the 2009 season of the "NFL on FOX" starting September 13th. While the likes of Joe Buck, Troy Aikman & Pam Oliver remain #1 with Kenny Albert, Daryl "Moose" Johnston & Tony Siragusa #2, you'll notice a couple of changes among the other teams that'll work the Bears and the rest of the NFL this fall. Here are the rest of the teams:
ALSO UNCHANGED:
Sam Rosen/Tim Ryan
Thom Brennaman/Brian Billick
NEW BROADCAST TEAMS:
Dick Stockton/Charles Davis
Ron Pitts/John Lynch
Chris Myers/Trent Green
NO LONGER ON BOARD:
Matt Vasgersian
J.C. Pearson
Brian Baldinger
Tony Boselli

It's unclear at this point if FOX Sports will do away with its sideline reporters like CBS Sports did a couple years ago. I tend to doubt it, but for those interested, these ladies worked the field last season on a regional level:
Laura Okmin
Charissa Thompson
Krista Voda
Danyelle Sargent (The One That Asked About Bill Walsh to Mike Singletary)

Dick Stockton should be taken out back and shot - he is TERRIBLE!! I don't know how he still has a job.

I remember listenting, nearly 40 years ago, to Dick Stockton on WBZ Boston. He was awful back then.

It's time he gave it a rest.

The Sam Rosen/Tim Ryan pairing is BAD.

It's a shame they got rid of Boseli. He was actually pretty good- the best ex-player I've heard in a while. I'm curious to hear John Lynch.

FOX Sports wasted little time putting John Lynch to work as soon as he retired. Unfortunately, he got assigned to work a Vikings/Jaguars' game last year with Chris Rose working the PBP and Krista Voda working the sidelines. Usually, when I think Krista, she's one of the pit reporters on the network's NASCAR coverage with Steve Byrnes, Matt Yocum and the ageless Dick Bergerren, with the smooth-sounding Mike Joy doing PBP with Darrell Waltrip & Larry McReynolds from Daytona to the first race at Dover, DE. Believe it or not, Byrnes actually worked an "NFL on FOX" game, while Joy worked a Twins/Rays' game on FOX regionally one Saturday afternoon at Tropicana Field last summer. In his first season on the job, Brian Billick did a really good job making the transition from Baltimore Ravens' head coach to NFL/FOX analyst last year and I think he'll only get better.

I would think after the national championship game between Oklahoma and Flordia, Fox would have kept Thom Brenneman from football ever again. Brenneman does college football all year on the Big 10 network, lucky us, so he should know the sport, and he was awful at announcing that game. I would think Fox would have told him to stay at baseball.

I used to think Buck was the worst at Fox, but after hearing Brenneman, that has changed.

Factually speaking, I'm not sure FOX Sports is airing the "Bowl Bash" this January leading up to the BCS Championship Game, which I believe come 2010 takes place not far from the network's offices & studios in Pasadena, CA. There's been talk that FOX might want to opt out of the last year of its BCS deal with ESPN/ABC Sports scheduled to carry ALL the BCS Bowl games starting in 2011.

Chris Myers is doing PBP? Wasn't he doing sideline stuff last year?

I'm all for employing Charissa Thompson in some capacity.

Doc, you are correct. Chris & Jeff Hammond worked the "Hollywood Hotel" on FOX Sports' NASCAR coverage. Chris has also worked on field level during the network's MLB Playoff and World Series coverage, plus worked the NFL on FOX sidelines on the Sam Rosen/Tim Ryan crew during football season. For some reason, Myers also is the preseason PBP of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with former Buc John Lynch as the analyst.
