Have your pens and scorecards ready. A few weeks ago, I started a thread in which I reported that FOX Sports has added former NFL V.P. of Officiating Mike Pereira as the network's "Rules Expert", along with former Super Bowl winning quarterback, the just retired Kurt Warner, and former Seahawks & Falcons' head coach Jim Mora. Jr. as analysts on a regional level.

Now, CBS Sports has announced its pairings for the 2010 NFL season. Once again this year, CBS has Jim Nantz & Phil Simms as the network's lead NFL team with Greg Gumbel & Dan Dierdorf as its #2 crew. One name noticeably absent among the remaining NFL/CBS teams this year is Dick Enberg. The 13-time Sports Emmy Award winner left CBS Sports earlier this year and is now the TV voice of the San Diego Padres. It will be the first time in more than 40 years that Enberg will NOT be behind the mic for an NFL game this season. As you will soon notice, Ian Eagle has moved up the NFL/CBS depth chart and will now be the network's #3 PBP, working this season with former San Diego Charger QB Dan Fouts. These are the guys who will provide the descriptions on CBS' coverage of the NFL this season:

1. Jim Nantz/Phil Simms (NFL/CBS #1 TEAM)
2. Greg Gumbel/Dan Dierdorf
3. Ian Eagle/Dan Fouts
4. Kevin Harlan/Solomon Wilcots
5. Gus Johnson/Steve Tasker
6. Bill Macatee/Rich Gannon
7. Don Criqui/Steve Beuerlein
8. Spero Dedes/Randy Cross

Just like last year, James Brown hosts "The NFL Today" from the CBS Studios in New York, complete with analysts Dan Marino, Bill Cowher, Shannon Sharpe, Boomer Esiason & "General Manager" Charley Casserly adding contributions 1 hour before their coverage kicks off.
