Usually, when you think of Ernie Johnson, Jr., you immediately think of his studio work with Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley & Chris Webber during basketball season as host of TNT Sports' NBA coverage.

All summer long, Ernie has been behind the mic as PBP voice of the Atlanta Braves on Peachtree TV, a regional sports & entertainment network based in the South. Come October 6th, Ernie will be the lead voice of TBS Sports' coverage of the MLB Playoffs, according to SportsNewser. Ernie, Ron Darling & future Hall of Famer John Smoltz will headline TBS' MLB playoff coverage, which will conclude with exclusive cable coverage of this year's American League Championship Series. As for the rest of the MLB/TBS crews, they go like this:

Brian Anderson/Joe Simpson
Dick Stockton/Bob Brenly
Don Orsillo/Buck Martinez

Former "ESPN SportsCenter" anchor Matt Winer, who joined Turner Sports earlier this year, takes over for Ernie as host of TBS' MLB Playoffs. Winer will be joined by David Wells, plus Hall of Famers Dennis Eckersley & Cal Ripken, Jr. in the network's Atlanta studio. Sports Illustrated senior baseball scribe & MLB Network's Tom Verducci along with Turner's Craig Sager, David Aldridge & Marc Fein will be field reporters during the upcoming postseason, likely without the White Sox and Cubs participating.

I know that Brian Anderson, not the former White Sox outfielder turned Royals' pitcher, calls the Brewers on FOX Sports Wisconsin, while Don Orsillo is the voice of the Red Sox on NESN.

The only question I have if TBS can get Dick Stockton from Fox, why can't they get any of the other guys. I know there isn't many who want to hear from like Thom Brenneman, Joe Buck, or Chris Rose, but can't TBS get more bigger than Brian Anderson or Don Orsillo.

Dick Stockton is employed by both networks. He also does NBA games on TNT.

Bad, bad, bad. Orsillo sounds just like Sean McDonough.

I'm very disappointed, Reents, in both FOX Sports & Turner Sports. For the kind of money of the networks spend on Major League Baseball, they can do much better as far as announcers are concerned. If Bob Brenly's good enough to be working postseason baseball, what's wrong with Len Kasper? Chris Rose is flat out terrible, both as pregame host on FOX's "Saturday Baseball Game of the Week", and as a play-by-play voice!
