howard had sacha baron cohen on this week and he pulled the "lincoln" line again! and he talked to him as if he'd never interviewed cohen before.

Richard is a beatoff, I wouldn't go to that wedding either. Pretty shitty to not hit hit that funeral though.

Checking in again...

the phony phone calls have now become just trolling shitty podcasts. some of them are really funny (tan mom singing) but they're very formulaic. almost to the point where it seems like the shows they're calling are completely in on the joke.

bobo is an absolute waste of airtime. he is annoying, but so is everything that surrounds his segments. howard's "bored" attitude, even though he lets him stay on the air and bloviate; allowing eric andre on for the thousandth time to do "bobo's toupee" which is extremely worn out (moreso than "jeff's lump"). even the parody songs for bobo making fun of him aren't that interesting anymore.

the wack pack has really decayed. with the death of eric the actor, crackhead bob (who hadn't been used in a while) and riley martin, the remainder are either underutilized (beetlejuice) or have just become boring (jeff the drunk, gary & wendy the retard).

anything with tan mom still makes me laugh. shuli's impressions of the people he has to follow are pretty good, almost better than sour shoes.

the guests have been hit or miss for me, and as i said before, his "serious approach" and larry king-like naivete is very irritating. when he knows the person, it's a great interview. when he's trying to impress them and being Mr. Interviewer, it suffers.

i still listen; i don't "hate listen". i don't tune in so i can bitch and complain about it. i really want this show to be better. i know it can still be entertaining. there are some bright spots. and i actually enjoy the wrap up show too.

still listening.

i like that he curbed the guests a little this past week; the interplay with the employees now is full on fanboy-only material but i'm so used to these guys that i don't mind it. wolfie comes off as very creepy and he doesn't look anything like i pictured him.

the parody songs are still the best part of this show. and the richard christy cut-ups of people's audio books. john hein's fast food book was made hilarious.

and i like the wrap up show.

underrated bonus: jay thomas on friday afternoons.

Robin parody songs suck and I think they actually make her think she is desirable to the opposite sex

The parody songs are all bad.

I've always hated Robin but now that Howard is more mellow and less edgy, she is even worse.

Howard jumped the shark when he renamed Gary the Retard, Gary the Conqueror. Artie is right, he's gone PC. I still like High Pitch Erik, Beetle juice and Bigfoot though.

He jumped the shark long before that. It was shortly after he signed the first big deal with Sirius, when he floated the idea of a four day work week. It all went downhill from there.

so i know it's not a great listen anymore to a lot of people but if anyone gets a chance this week to catch the replay of Ronnie's Revelations--stories of Ronnie's sexed up youth--it's worth listening to. Not sure if everything he says is true or if he's embellishing (probably the latter) but it's really entertaining.

plus, george takei has been on this week.

yeah the whole hypnosis thing just feels forced and it's hard to believe as credible.

i did like ed torian's lie detector tests to confirm that richard and sal are gay though.

He couldn't even read the questions without laughing. I wonder what their wives think of all this... and Sal has older kids too doesn't he

ultimate shock when i got into my car this morning, and they were LIVE on a thursday.

it's actually been one of the most entertaining shows i've heard in years. they did a "horseshoe" roundtable thing, digging up stuff from their computer. they played some great clips never aired, and some games too.

if the show was like this every day, it'd be a must listen again. hasn't been this fun in a long time.

Yeah the ball busting was a brief blast from the past. That day or the day before he was talking about the lockdown when Taylor Swift visited Sirius & acting like he doesn't do the same thing.

I don't get it. His show isn't unique anymore. He took all the edgy things out. Does he even have a big audience anymore?

I know a few that still listen to him regularly.

I was never a big fan, but if I hear of a good interview, I'll find a podcast or re-play of it. I never care for all of his shtick, but he's very good at interviewing.

Never thought the whole porn star lesbian part of his show was all that interesting. The thing that made him great was finding weird people and using them to create comedy gold. The celebrity bashing and his honesty about his personal life was great. Unfortunately, he stopped being funny around 2010 after Artie left.

I always wondered if his contract was his pay, or the money they gave him for his show. Looks like I got my answer.

Quote:
His previous five-year contracts, which cover production and staff, topped out at roughly $80 million to $100 million.
