Fans, even though FOX Sports will continue to air Major League Baseball for quite sometime to come, awfulannouncing.com reports that the Los Angeles-based pregame show leading up to the network's regional coverage on Saturday afternoons will be cut for the 2009 season. FOX Sports bosses Ed Goren & David Hill announced the decision to cut the pregame show around Thanksgiving at a meeting inside the network's L.A. offices. Part of the reason for cutting the pregame show had to be that fans weren't exactly thrilled with seeing the likes of host Jeanne Zelasko, co-host Kevin Kennedy & rotating analysts Mark Grace & Eric Karros approximately 15 minutes before the network's regional coverage began. Other reasons had to be that FOX lost $50 million this past season on its MLB coverage, and that the network is still reeling from arguably the lowest rated World Series in history between the Philadelphia Phillies & Tampa Bay Rays. Although Grace & Karros will continue to analyze games from the ballpark, Zelasko & Kennedy won't be part of the network's MLB coverage next season. FOX has also announced that its "Saturday Game of the Week" will start at approximately 12:07p next April, instead of 2:55p this past season.

I think that this is a good thing, except for Zelasko. What is she gonna do?

I like the earlier game start time too.

In case you're wondering, Jeanne & Krista Voda are scheduled to work the sidelines of FOX Sports' coverage of the AT&T Cotton Bowl January 2nd. Dallas' own Pat Summerall, minus the bottle, will call the game with Brian Baldinger. As for Krista, she's slated to work pit row on FOX's Emmy-award winning NASCAR team, which begins at Daytona in February. While it's unclear what Jeanne will be doing come baseball season, Kevin Kennedy has worked Dodgers' postgame from the studios of FSN Prime Ticket, and likely will be there again come spring & summer.
