You can forget about former Lions' President Matt Millen joining NBC Sports now that Cris Collinsworth is succeeding John Madden with Al Michaels & sideline reporter Andrea Kremer on "Sunday Night Football". ESPN has announced the hiring of the former Lions' President & 4-time Super Bowl Champion as its replacement for Emmitt Smith. Millen will likely replace Smith, whose own ESPN contract wasn't renewed, on "Monday Night Countdown" this fall before the network's coverage of "Monday Night Football". Even though Millen screwed up the Lions drafting wide receivers with every first round pick, or so it seemed, he better not screw up this chance doing what he did very well for many years with CBS Sports & FOX Sports as the #2 analyst on both networks' game coverage of the NFL in the early '90s.
