Fans, imagine Erin Andrews possibly competing on ABC's runaway reality hit "Dancing with the Stars" in the very near future... Yeah, I've got your undivided attention. Erin was part of ESPN on ABC's broadcast of the 2009 Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee this evening, and supposedly approached the topic jokingly last year with host Tom Bergeron, and supposedly asked again this year about possibly competing in the hit competition. Before becoming arguably the sexiest sportscaster on TV, Erin danced with the University of Florida Dazzlers from 1996-2000. She told interviewer Dan Steinberg that she not only wants to do it, but she feels confident that she would be "good at it". It's unclear if her ESPN/ABC Sports bosses would allow Erin to trade in her microphone and her revealing outfits for a studded costume complete with stilleto heels, hours & hours of practice, and like in the sports she covers for the two networks, there's a risk for injury. I know this much...Ms. Andrews has quite a following among adult men ages 18-45 whenever she's part of the crew of the sporting event she's reporting on from the diamond, the gridiron and the court.

I don't drool over EA as much as others but I would certainly tune in
for a few episodes if she were on. Would be nice to see her in something
that wasn't all conservative.

If EA is on this program, I will be sitting and watching a TV show with my wife regularly for the first time in years.

If Erin Andrews ever decided to do "Dancing with the Stars", bet the rent I'm watching. I'm just not so sure her ESPN/ABC bosses would let her do the show, even though I saw Kenny Mayne do a "SportsCenter"-like spoof a couple years ago called "DanceCenter". It was either one of the final episodes on "DWTS" or on the spinoff called "Dance Wars: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann" when Kenny and a couple other stars appeared to help announce the lineup of celebrities for an upcoming season of ABC's hit reality competition. I remember earlier this year, host Tom Bergeron was all over ABC besides his other show "AFV" to announce the celebrity lineup during the network's Sunday night prime time lineup. The new season is set to begin in September, and right now, it's anybody's guess who is scheduled to compete.

M'eh ... call me when it's changed to Topless Dancing with the Stars.

Don, if you or any of our fans on this message board have ever watched an episode of "DWTS", the outfits, especially among the women, reveal a lot of skin as is. If it ever went t0pless, the censors would not only have a field day, but the alphabet network would be getting a phone call from the FCC. Shortly after the infamous Janet Jackson wardrobe fiasco at the Super Bowl down in Houston in 2004, CBS got fined a lot of money for indecent material. Even though the fine was recently rescinded I do believe, the networks back then were under such scrunity for the vaguely described indecency policy, that what we saw on TV a few years ago couldn't push the sexual envelope. An example of such fear..."The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" was off the air for 2 years due to complaints that the show was nothing more than soft porn when it aired on ABC. It has since aired every year on CBS, usually around Christmastime.

Doc, Shark, she did some sideline reporting last weekend from the National Spelling Bee finals. I giggled as I thought what a quality family television this would be in the Noisewater household.

I bet there were kids everywhere, as well as fathers across America, who either rolled their eyes or wanted to get like "Beavis & Butthead" used to do in getting real, real close to the TV everytime Erin came on their TV...

- It was a smarmy comment
- Well aware of the Jackson history, thanks ... fortunately, I had just gotten back from living under a rock a couple of days prior to the Houston Super Bowl
- Who needs revealing outfits for 46 minutes once a week on broadcast television when 'the internetz' are at one's disposal?

Things I learned about SHARK today: he's the board's unofficial FCC Historical Custodian.
