A while back, I told you about rumored changes at FOX Sports in its NFL broadcasts, but at the time, it appeared vague. Now, according to awfulannouncing.com, a little bit has now been revealed. After working last season's Minnesota/Jacksonville game with Chris Rose & sideline reporter Krista Voda, John Lynch has officially been hired by FOX for the upcoming season. The former hard-hitting safety during his playing career will replace Brian Baldinger, whose contract on the NFL/FOX games will NOT be renewed. Meanwhile, NBC Sports has decided NOT to "refuel" the "Bus", former Pittsburgh Steelers' running back Jerome Bettis after 3 seasons on its overcrowded "Football Night in America" pregame show before "Sunday Night Football". NBC's decision not to renew Bettis' contract actually dates back to late April, but flew well under the radar after John Madden announced his retirement from the booth and Cris Collinsworth being named as John's successor in the "SNF" booth alongside Al Michaels & sideline reporter Andrea Kremer. As for who may replace Bettis on "Football Night", the just retired New England Patriots' cornerback Rodney Harrison & former Indianapolis Colts' head coach Tony Dungy are both believed to be getting a long, hard look.

Reents, you are correct. Brian & Sterling Sharpe host "Coors Light NFC/AFC Matchup" shows during the NFL season on DIRECTV 212, and Brian teams up with Rick "Doc" Walker from Westwood One on Comcast SportsNet's "Pro Football Now" during football season as well. I don't know if John Lynch will be teaming up with Dick Stockton, let alone Pat Summerall or Matt Vasgersian this fall on FOX. Those were the guys that "Baldy" had worked with...

The last time I had a chance to watch a segment of the NFL Network, I saw Brian Baldinger absolutely giving no good reason on why the NFL needs to be globalized and basically, he said too bad to us fans who don't want the Super Bowl going to London in 2015. If you thought the CFL in the USA was bad, that will be worse. Baldinger is barely a poor-mans Matt Millen and still, no one should be subjected to him.
