Dick Enberg has one of the most incredible & impressive sportscasting resumes in all of sports television. Dick has called 42 NFL seasons, 10 Super Bowls, 26 Wimbledons, 23 French Opens, 14 NCAA Basketball Championships. 10 U.S. Tennis Opens, 9 Rose Bowls, 6 Orange Bowls & 4 Olympic Games during a career with NBC & CBS Sports that spans over 40 years. Dick has also won 14 Sports Emmy Awards, 9 Sportscaster of the Year Awards, the Ronald Reagan Media Award & the Victor Award, recognizing the top sportscaster of the past 40 years. He also became the fourth sportscaster to earn a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1998 and is the only person to win National Emmys as a sportscaster, writer & producer.

Now, Dick is going back to his roots. The San Diego Padres have hired the sportscasting icon to become the team's new play-by-play voice on COX-owned Channel 4 San Diego starting in Spring Training this February. Dick will leave CBS Sports, where he has called NFL Football, NCAA Basketball, the U.S. Tennis Open and has contributed essays to the network's coverage of both the Masters & the PGA Championship the last 10 years, to devote to his new job with the Padres. He'll take time off to continue calling Wimbledon on ESPN2 and the U.S. Open on both ESPN2 and CBS during July & August.

While it may seem unusual to mention Enberg in the same breath with baseball, chew on this. Dick started his sportscasting career way back in 1965 calling the California Angels on both radio & TV. He also called the Los Angeles Rams & UCLA Basketball, winning 4 California Sportscaster of the Year honors long before joining NBC Sports in 1975 and CBS Sports in 1999.
