Aaron Boone played for 6 different teams in a 12-year MLB career, most recently with the Houston Astros. He has traded in his uniform for a suit, shirt & tie at ESPN. Best known for hitting a game-winning home run with the New York Yankees to send the Boston Red Sox home empty-handed in the 2003 American League Championship Series, Aaron has become the latest talking head if you will at the "Worldwide Leader in Sports" as they're starting their 20th season broadcasting Major League Baseball. Boone, who was a guest analyst on ESPN Radio's national broadcast of the National League Division Series last October, will mainly be seen on "Baseball Tonight" but will also work selected games this spring & summer on the sports talk radio network's coverage of MLB.

Also at ESPN, the network has announced a promotion for Orel Hershiser. The former Dodgers' World Series winning pitcher turned analyst the last couple of seasons on ESPN's "Monday/Wednesday Night Baseball" will be replacing the fired Steve Phillips this season on the network's exclusive coverage of "Sunday Night Baseball" with Jon Miller & Joe Morgan. Phillips, also the former New York Mets' General Manager, was fired late last year from ESPN due to an affair with former production assistant Brooke Hundley. Hershiser will continue to analyze the College World Series in Omaha and the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA in addition to his new duties with Jon & Joe on "SNB" this season.

ESPN is hiring every retired player possible. Last night they signed Schilling to do TV and write for the website. They also have former Blue Jays G.M J.P R. and Nomar. I figure Schilling will become a pain in the ass by May.
