ESPN has made news on 2 fronts today. As many have expected, the smooth-sounding Dan Shulman & Bobby Valentine will join Orel Hershiser for the new sound of "Sunday Night Baseball" next season. The news comes just days after the "Worldwide Leader in Sports" announced that Jon Miller & Joe Morgan will no longer call the network's marquee game after 21 years in the broadcast booth. This as Jon has been mulling over a proposed deal to continue calling "SNB" on ESPN Radio next year with analyst Dave "Soup" Campbell in addition to Miller's duties as the radio voice of the new World Champion San Francisco Giants on KNBR SportsRadio out there.

The other piece of news from Bristol, CT is that the network has announced its teams for the upcoming Bowl Championship Series. Brent Musburger & Kirk Herbstreit, the guys who called the Rose Bowl Game & the BCS Championship Game a year ago on ESPN/ABC, will be back behind the mics again this year as the networks' #1 BCS crew. Erin Andrews will replace Lisa Salters on the sidelines, as Brent & Kirk provide the call of the Rose Bowl Game January 1, 2011, along with the 2011 BCS Title Game at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ January 10th. As for the other announcers, I've got you covered:

January 1, 2011- Tostitos Fiesta Bowl-University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, AZ:
Sean McDonough, Matt Millen & Heather Cox (Sidelines)

January 3, 2011- DISCOVER Card Orange Bowl-SunLife Stadium, Miami:
Mike Tirico, Ron Jaworski, Jon Gruden, Michele Tafoya & Suzy Kolber (Sidelines)

January 4, 2011-Allstate Sugar Bowl-Louisiana Superdome, New Orleans:
Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge & Holly Rowe (Sidelines)

Although ESPN's BCS Contract technically started with last year's BCS Championship Game, this is the first year where every one of these bowls will be carried by ESPN & ESPN Radio nationally. The network is planning 4 hours of pregame prior to every BCS bowl. And you thought 3 hours was long enough!

The distressingly plain faced Erin Andrews ( Doc) replacing the knowlegeable, witty and attractive Lisa Salters??? That's just not right.

Screw ESPN.

Gotta be....racial :x

This is probably something Erin Andrews got in her new deal.

The Orange Bowl could be intresting with the Monday Night guys doing the game, Gruden can start his scouting for the Cowboys.
