She joined NBC this past spring, and is supposed to join "Access Hollywood" in a non-sports capacity this fall, if not already. Pretty soon, could we be seeing a lot more of Michelle Beadle on our TVs? If NBC Sports President Jon Miller has his way, the answer is a definite yes.
The scoop from New York is that Beadle could be in line to host a new sports talk morning show on NBC Sports Network, and Miller says Beadle is at the top of his list. "We're trying to find the right format for her," Miller said. "She could be a perfect morning show for us. We're talking with some other people she might work with. She's really a talent."
Miller believes that's only a matter of time before NBC Sports Network makes an announcement about such a show for Beadle. She became a household name the last couple of years on ESPN2's "SportsNation" with co-host, ESPN Radio midday host Colin Cowherd, as well as "Winners Bracket" with former NFL defensive tackle Marcellus Nas on ABC Saturday afternoons as part of "ESPN Sports Saturday" during college football's offseason.
Also at NBC Sports Network, the daily sports news & highlights show simply called "The 'Lights", which debuted last month after the London Summer Olympics, is doing well enough weekday mornings that will soon warrant a third hour Monday-Friday, according to Miller. "The 'Lights", which airs sports news & highlights every 20 minutes minus a set and anchor, currently airs from 6-8A (CT) on DIRECTV 603 weekday mornings.
