Since Comcast SportsNet's contract with FOX Sports Net expired at the end of July, the ONLY places Chicago fans of "The Dan Patrick Show" could get their "DP Show" fix has been by either watching the show on DIRECTV's Audience Network weekdays 8-11A (CT) or by listening online at danpatrick.com. Well, it appears as if "DP Show" is on the move, at least on the TV side anyway.
This morning, according to the Twitter account of sports media Website fangsbites.com, Dan's nationally syndicated sports talk radio show, which had been available on FOX Sports' regionals, including MSG Network Plus in New York & ROOT Sports' regionals in Pittsburgh, Rocky Mountain & the Pacific Northwest, will no longer air on those outlets as of tomorrow morning. While the show continues on DIRECTV's Audience Network, Channel 239, on some 270 terrestrial radio stations across America, as well as on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, the video version of Dan's show might be headed for a new TV home in the coming weeks.
It's believed that Dan, who already works for NBC Sports as New York-based studio host of "Football Night in America" nearly 90 minutes before the network's coverage of "Sunday Night Football", will soon relocate the video version of his daily sports talk radio show to NBC Sports Network. That channel, found on DIRECTV 603, has been struggling to find programming with the NHL currently locked out & the channel unable to land contracts such as Major League Baseball & major conferences for college football & basketball. NBCSN does air Dan's "NFL Turning Point" @ 9P Wednesdays during football season.
NBC Sports Network currently airs the sports news & highlights show simply called "The 'Lights" weekdays 5-9A (CT) followed by outdoor programming the channel inherited from its former identities as VERSUS & the Outdoor Life Network. An official announcement hasn't been made yet regarding when "DP Show" will move to NBCSN, but it could be made in the next few days.
