Now that the San Francisco Giants are World Champions for the second time in 3 years, MLB Network's focus now turns to the offseason, and for one of their original offseason shows, it'll return at breakfast time.
That show is "Hot Stove", which returns to the MLBN schedule Monday, November 12th @ 8A (CT) from the network's home in Secaucus, NJ. "Hot Stove" will actually start the day with the latest MLB news, analysis & discussion, much like NFL Network now does with its own dawn patrol show "NFL AM". Matt Vasgersian & Harold Reynolds will serve as hosts of the re-launched "Hot Stove", according to an MLBN press release.
Two of the new wrinkles of MLBN's morning version of "Hot Stove" will involve conversation with "Sports on Earth" writers such as National Sportswriter of the Year Joe Posnanski, along with a national "Face of MLB" via social media. Basically, it's a bracket-style tourney in which MLB fans will vote to determine who's the face of their respective team before matching up each club's player up to determine the "Face of MLB". A daily "Best of Hot Stove" will air weekdays @ 3P on MLBN, DIRECTV 213.
It's not the only show that's returning to MLBN's offseason lineup. Fellow MLBN host Brian Kenny uses sabermetrics, stats and assistance from MLBN analysts on the return of "Clubhouse Confidential" weekdays @ 4:30P & 6:30P, starting November 5th.
Two other shows continue on the MLBN schedule year round during the offseason. "Intentional Talk" with hosts Chris Rose & Kevin Millar will air as a 30 minute show weekdays @ 4P, while "MLB Tonight" will provide the very latest offseason news & baseball talk for the first time as a year-round show weeknights @ 5P & 7P.
