What do you get when you feature classic baseball movies, some of Hollywood's heavy hitters & MLB Network's Bob Costas? The answer adds up to a new 5-week series that premieres tonight on MLBN.

It's called "Costas At The Movies", which debuts this eve. The MLBN host & baseball fan will debut a new series beginning @ 7P tonight. First, Bob goes one-on-one with the stars of a specific baseball-themed feature film for 30 minutes. Then, after Costas chats with the stars of that movie, MLBN airs the movie in its entirety starting @ 7:30P on DIRECTV 213.

Tonight, actor Tommy Lee Jones & director Ron Shelton join Bob @ 7P to discuss the biopic based on Detroit Tigers' Hall of Famer Ty Cobb. After Bob chats with the stars of that movie, the 1994 film "Cobb" premieres on MLBN @ 7:30P. It's the first of 5 straight "Costas At The Movies" that'll air Monday nights.

Next Monday, January 21st, actress Tatum O'Neal, who played Amanda Whurlizer in the 1978 film "Bad News Bears" will discuss her role with Bob before MLBN airs "Bad News Bears" in its entirety. Then, January 28th, director Penny Marshall & actress Geena Davis, who played catcher Dottie Hinson, discuss the making of the 1992 movie "A League of Their Own" followed by the feature film itself. Director John Sayles then discusses the 1919 Black Sox Scandal on February 4th, followed by MLBN's presentation of 1988's "Eight Men Out". Last but not least, director Barry Levinson discusses Robert Redford's role as Roy Hobbs with Costas on February 11th, leading into MLBN's presentation of Redford's 1984 baseball drama "The Natural". Get out the popcorn!
