I know the guest. Gad is an Evolutionary psychologist whom I have met a few times (he at least remembers my name) and is kind of a big deal. He does a good job explaining what we do as social scientists in general and about evolutionary psychology (my favorite area of psychology) specifically.

No, it doesn't necessarily do that, it may help explain why a patriarchy came to exist but it isn't here to enforce it. However, that area of evolutionary psychology is not my area of expertise. I'm more interested in mate preferences, challenges and jealousy. Basically, I like sex and doing research on it, but who doesn't?
