They got lucky as Hell but we'll take it. The offense finally took care of business.

Imagine how good the bears would be if they had a good QB.

  They have the 2nd best record in the NFL.

The standings don't show anything for prettiness or effectiveness. 6-1 is all it will show in the papers tomorrow.

Pretty sure Cutler said, "What the fuck, I swear to god."

Also I pretty much had a heart attack.

This has all the earmarks of the DICK JAURON 13-3 season where everything broke their way and they get their ass handed to them in the playoffs. Cutler fucking blows.

The Bears are a very good team. This was their first ugly win. Everyone is allowed a few of those. But the standings don't validate Cutler as a good QB.

I don't think anyone except Spaulding has that sentiment. Not sure who you're referring to here.

Edit: I wasn't in the chat though, I'm sure there was some dumb comments along the way.

I'd like to think I walked the fine line properly re: Lovie.

I'd like to think Derrick Rose will get cybernetic implants and be able to leap from the opposite FT line for a dunk.

I'm not sure which thought is more correct.

There were some calls I didn't like by Lovie today. The first drive of the 2nd half I thought it was worth a shot going for it on 4th and 2 at midfield. It was going to be another short drive that put the D right back on the field. The missed field goal I thought they should have gone for and I thought just handing it off on the last play before the GW FG was gutless when they weren't in gimme range and Gould just missed. That being said I think those are decisions that Lovie will make every time because that's the coach he is and it works for him.

I meant it as a complement when I said it was a Lovie-esque win. That happens to another coach and I can see it as calling it lucky, but Lovie wins so many of these games that I give him full credit them. My favorite Lovie win was a 2004 game over the Titans. 19-17 OT win. Craig fucking Krenzel starts and plays like Krenzel and piles up 2 FG drives but a Michael Haynes interception return and a RW Mc 1/4s punt return for TDs puts the game in OT where the Bears win on a safety of all things. It's a crazy way to win a game, but with Lovie you just nod your head and think he coached it so that would happen.

The Forte run was to set up on Goulds preferred has mark.

Sure, I still didn't think they were close enough to be worrying about being on the preferred hash and not trying to get closer, but Lovie made the right call.

What can I say, I'm a meatball? I can't stand him. I can't ever figure out if this team is lucky or good and I hate that. They aren't good a lot of the time when it's important. The teams are consistently unprepared, for games that if they were good, they'd win handily...like today. No reason they should have been put in that position. I don't like his philosophy that the defense is the offense. People complain he hasn't had the talent is true and it's bs. He's had elite talent and wastes time and players looking for that talent replacement so his system runs. They play to their opponent, and not to lose. I want them to dominate.

I am proud of my team for winning a game when they were pretty much dominated0 I am proud of my team for keeping the Packers 2 games back in the loss column. I didn't say anything about the QB, who was brutal for 3.5 quarters.

I thought it was a stupid move by Lovie to go for the FG that Gould missed earlier. They were down by 12, and it was 4th and like 4 or 5. The offense wasn't doing much, but you needed 2 TDs to get the lead regardless of making or missing that FG. I didn't like that move, and I would have went for it. Or at least line up and see if the Panthers jump offsides.

Tim Jennings Defensive player of this week?
Besides the INT and TD,he also caught that WR
from behind on that 62 yard reception. That's
a 14 point swing. They got 3 instead of 7 on that drive.

No way. Smith had 7 or 8 catches for over 100 yards and he also dropped a TD pass.

I think most people would agree that the Packers and 49ers are good teams. They lost to the Colts and the Vikings. Cedric Benson may be the only player you can say left the Bears and had success somewhere else. That didn't hurt because Forte came right behind him. Other than that there isn't a player that was bad here that ended up being really got somewhere else. Even with bad talent and injuries a Lovie coached team finishes .500.

I would have gone for it too but you would have only needed a touchdown and a FG to win.

Meat made it clear that Smith was torching Jennings all day long but was summarily dismissed by an agitated Danny Mac.
