I think we all kinda figured this was coming, but its official now;
Quote:
Chicago Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton tore the ACL in his left knee Sunday night and will miss the rest of the season, coach Marc Trestman said Monday.

Trestman said Melton, who received the Bears' franchise tag this past offseason, is "terribly disappointed" and, although the Bears lost "a very good player," the team's motto is "next man up."

Melton was carted off the field after suffering the injury during the visiting Bears' 40-23 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. He underwent an MRI on Monday morning. Melton left the game with 12:58 to play after he fell awkwardly while trying to make a move as he was engaged with a Pittsburgh player.

He'll be back next year as Adrian Peterson.

DT is very thin on this team. I'd like to see what the UDFA can do and Collins was probably playing better than Melton.

I agree. My Freak-Out-O-Meter on this is about a 3 out of 10. Melton hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire. They have some guys. I don't think this is like Tommie Harris going down back in the day.

I don't know where we're gonna find another DT who can't rush the QB or stop the run.

3-13

Time to call Cleveland and see what they have. Actually, that's not a bad idea.

I would love to get Phil Taylor, but I don't think that is going to happen.

I know it is anti Lovie-Tucker system but would it be so bad to get a 320 pound guy that takes on double teams and blocks the 0 and 1 gaps?

Browns defense is nasty. His chunky ass has frees up a ton of space for the LB and their new guy Bryant to go off. Tied for 3rd in the league in sacks.
