Need to tank remainder of season to try and secure a good draft slot. Draft QB and start him day one. Need corners and safeties as well. This team is too old and the QB is done.

Agreed. Most the offensive stars hit their thirties in the next 3 years. Right about the time you make the defense serviceable again for this league, the offense will start to break down. Let's hope Trestman is able to get lower round picks working in his system.

I was putting a percentage on whether this post would be about Theo when I saw you were the last post

I started at 88, then thought, nah too high....46...then I moved it up to 63

With the 2013 season all but lost with the injuries of Cutler, Briggs, and every other damn player the Bears need to trade some valuable players for more help on the Defensive side since they aren't getting any younger.

Forte, Hester, or Bush could be some options

Tucker should use the rest of this season to install HIS defense since the veterans are out and most likely will be gone next year.

It's a complete shame this season has gone the way it has, but I guess that's football. Maybe next year the Bears will be better balanced...but I doubt it.

no they aren't and three years is an eternity in the NFL. You have a league average of about 33% overhaul league wide on every roster every year

Bears don't need to tank anything. The tanking is being done for them

Cutler will be 33, Forte 30, Marshall 32, Bushrod 32 and Hester 33. You also will need a new center soon.

I don't know if tanking does much, its just making sure the picks they do get fit in his system.

The Bears need to rebuild on one side of the ball only, and they have to start looking at new RBs anyway since Forte is nearing the late twenties period which is a bad time to be a RB.

Forte has pretty low mileage for his age (but mark my words, Ford is going to be a starting RB somewhere). Jeffrey is undoubtedly emerging as a player with top WR potential to replace Marshall. M. Bennett is still young. Everyone believed Long will be the next LT in a few years.

The talent on the O side is both present and in development.

He's been extremely useful, but not particularly impressive as a runner, nor does he have high-end speed. He's fine for now, but disposal at the first hint of significant depreciation.

Like Dolphin said, this is the NFL. Every team, good and bad, rebuilds every year. It's just about if you have the franchise QB or not. Franchise QBs make up for a lot of flaws.
