I get the feeling that the players think Garrett is kind of a douchebag and Lovie will absolutely command more respect than him the second he walks in the room. They might as just make Lovie the HC rather than wait a year to fire Garrett and do it. I could absolutely see a Lovie HC/Norv OC combo down in Dallas come 2014.

In today's hyperspecialized NFL, what does a head coach even do that the coordinators don't, or can't? Why not hire, like you said, Norv to be your final-say offensive coordinator, Lovie on the defensive side, and then pluck some stooge to do the press conferences and facilitate whatever communication has to be done between coordinators, have some sort of veto power, but mostly just be a figurehead.
