They would be 2-11.

Depleted defense and he can't coach offense.

I think you may be right Jimmy. But he wouldn't have kicked on 2nd down which is all that really matters.

and Gould would have never missed a FG for Lovie, because he got guys to play hard. Weakest statement made about any coach.

almost every guy plays hard on every play.

1, Make tackles and scouts see it, they then start looking at signing you.
2. Make enough tackles and they get tape of you and look to sign you for starting jobs! and some real money.

Guys who have signed big money deals or at the end, start taking plays or games off (Julius Peppers) but for the most part guys are always playing hard.

I think you've got it somewhat twisted here. Getting guys to play hard here means they bought into Lovie as a leader, and for the defense, into his philosophy. It does a lot for a team's organization when guys fall in line and play hard for the coach, as opposed to playing hard for themselves and their agents.

if lovie was coaching this bears team they'd be somewhere between 4-9 and 6-7, i reckon. they prolly woulda lost a couple'a more games that mccown started because there's no way mccown is the revelation that he's been in a mike tice offensive system...... that's all on the king tresticle.

i think the defense would be better and would have helped, but the offense would have been so many steps back that alshon would have prolly developed only to have 1/2 of the #s he has now, and marshall would have a bit more stats, but yeah i mean....lovie would have gotten more out of this defense. they would have drafted different players this year and they prolly wouldn't have kyle long but they might have hit on some other defensive players....and well, yeah, i think they'd be within ~3 games of where they are now, but without the offense getting better and better to the point where it's now obviously the focal point of this football team, indeed, even with a defense performing ~10-25% better they'd still be in a heap of trouble.... and jay prolly woulda got injured sooner and then mccown woulda got smeared cuz they woulda prioritized defensive free agents over offensive/line FAs and we'd see the same offense we saw since cutler arrived just without kyle long and bushrod and others because the priority would have been making this a defense-first team that wins because the defense plays better against the opponents offense than the opponents defense does against the ticefence.

Lovie couldn't coach through injuries ...he'd be fucked losing this many starters , maybe 3 wins.
