If the Lions win and the Bears lose, it will be the Giants instead of Philly and Arizona instead of the Seahawks. Cuz a lions win and Bears loss means they are 3rd in the divison and face the 3rd place teams in the NFC divisions that they don't play in the natural rotation.

The Bengals whipped the Jets 49-9 in Week 8. It's worth wondering if such lopsided defeats can have a carry-over effect for the loser. Is there a hangover the next week after being pummeled? In the last 10 seasons, that doesn't appear to be the case. Since 2004, there have been 25 other games that have been 40-point blowouts or worse. The loser has a 13-12 record in its next game and the Jets bounced back from their bad loss to beat the Saints this season.

Front-office chess: Catching on

The Bears hoped to get a look at wide receiver Chris Williams in October when a Canadian court ruled he could get out of playing for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. A workout was scheduled with the Bears, according to an NFL source, but the Saints managed to sign him to their practice squad before he could make it to Halas Hall. The Bears finally landed him, signing him away from the Saints to their 53-man roster on Thursday. Williams is a dynamic receiver with great speed at 5-feet-8, 175 pounds. He scored a Hamilton record 17 touchdowns last season and six of them were returns, a CFL record. In 2011, he was the CFL rookie of the year. He will get a look as a vertical threat and can be an addition in the return game.

The Bears are likely to finish 8-8 this year. Their offense has been about as good (and healthy) as it could get and the aging D will be another year older & likely without some key players.
They also have shown the capability to lose to teams they shouldn't while struggling in virtually all of their wins. Yeah I see where you'd have them going 11-5.

that's kind of what I meant when I said "without some of their key players". If you think they will replace Peppers and Tillman with better players then I suppose I could see a reason for optimism.
My guess is they will continue to struggle and the DC will get run out of town.

That's true. But, those are some big boy teams on the road.

I wouldn't bet on down years from GB, Carolina, NE, or SF next year. I also think ATL will be much better next year. I'm not optimistic.
