Decent coach, did a decent job while trying to manage a bad situation with a GM who gave him Chris Ponder as his solution. Knows the league, know the plays!

Trestman seems all good with bringing back Bear tradition.

I dont hate Mel Tucker, but I still think a change is needed.

Mully said Angelo wanted him as DC, but Lovie refused. Not sure true.

Mully also when asked said, "when was the last time they had an ex-Bear DC and how did that work for you....uh....they went to the Super Bowl....but they lost...."

It would then mean crazy-ass, Jesus-loving Singletary comes back to the Bears as LB coach. Cuz he's Frazier's good buddy.

I disagree. He had 3 NFL coaches on his staff one year and he wanted to hire Marinelli from Day 1. He also wanted the Giants DC but was turned down.

I'm not a fan of bringing Frazier anywhere near the Bears.

Marinelli isn't a threat to take any HC job ever again.

Marinelli wouldnt even keep his job if Lovie wasnt there. I think Lovie knew that.

Martz didnt want to be head coach and was a last choice as Angelo didnt want Martz, but then Lovie gave him no other options.

Then it was Tice, who was just promoted from OL coach...and once again, 1 year left on contract for Lovie, not getting anyone even close to decent to take the job.

Hiring an 0-16 coach isnt exactly a threat

Back to Singletary, I have to beleive the McCaskey's and others in the organization know that Singletary is crazy. Thus would not allow him on the Lake Forrest campus.

Hell, Les Frazier must know his old buddy is crazy.

True. He wanted him BEFORE he became and NFL head coach. He probably would have gotten a job after being the Bears DC.

Lovie didn't want anyone with knowledge of other defensive schemes.

He wanted to run his defense. It was successful. He allowed Rivera to and Marinelli to add some wrinkles. Lovie wanted to run a Rams system on the grass at Soldier Field. That was one of the dumbest things ever. He tried this his entire time as coach.

He said no before when Lovie asked. I doubt they'll ask again and I doubt rosy cheeks gets fired.
