How about a Pepsi?

All I wanted was a Pepsi! And SHE wouldn't give it to me! JUST ONE PEPSI!

Quote:
What happened was Bears defensive coordinator Mel Tucker called for "zone pressure,'' in Conte's words, on fourth-and-8 from the Bears 48. The Packers came out in a shotgun formation with four wide receivers and fullback John Kuhn next to quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Seconds before the snap, Bears linebacker James Anderson turned toward Conte and raised his right arm.

"At the last second, we checked into a call 'Pepsi,' an all-out blitz,'' Conte said. "It's up to the discretion of the linebacker. Against a spread formation like that, it's called because we have more people than they can block. It's a numbers thing. Everybody comes after the quarterback and if the ball doesn't come out immediately, you're pretty much screwed.''

"I didn't get the check and thought we were still in zone pressure, three-deep,'' said Conte, who settled near the first-down marker. "I was locked in. I'm thinking fourth down and my responsibilities. I'm going to say it's my fault because I was too focused on my job, thinking about the routes they've been running all game. I thought we had a good call to begin with and it's unfortunate I didn't get the check.'

Wait... you were too focused on your job that you didn't do your basic job?
Who are you crappin?

That's why Mel Tucker should be fired. He made the bad call.

What? If 11 players are all running the same play I don't think that what happens happens.

From the video it appears that the James Anderson realized it was a horrible play at the last second.

Bad play nothing. The problem wasn't the play call, it was that one guy was on an island and wasn't playing the same defense that the rest of the team was and it left someone WIDE the fuck open. I agree Tucker must die but Conte was playing like an aloof asshole all season long.

Cobb said in the A. Andrews pre game interview that, "The safety was looking ten yards down field and not paying any attention to me. I put up my hand before I even passed him and Rodgers hit me for the TD." Fuking Conte needs to go!!!

Yeah there's that too... he said also he was flat footed and knew he was good to go.
That's sweet. Hearing that from another team about your safety. Usually they say things like "they're talented played a great game made a great play bla bla bla but we were just a bit better" no he said he was flat footed, and not paying any attention, which is hilarious because he was paying NO attention to the play called and he said he was just too focused on his job.

All the talk about Shea being a bad Emery pick is fine and all, but lets not forget this idiot Emery drafting Contes potential replacement in the third round, then being forced to cut him without having ever seen him in regular season action, all because Emery thought the guys extensive injury history didn't matter.

and Rodriguez being drafted one round later even though he was kicked out of WV (how is that even possible) and had another run in with the law at Temple, because he promised Emery that he had cleaned up his act

What is the average expectation for 7 draft picks?

1 star, 2 starters, 5 guys who help the team?

I dont expect anyone from the 4-7th rounds to even make the team. If they do it's just gravy. Your 1st and 2nd rd players must make the team and at least contribute something.

Eh, I think you're going a little overboard. 6th and 7th you can live without making the team. You cant consistently not get ANYTHING from 4th and 5th rounders.

The great teams even find players in the 6th

Well yeah, you occasionally get someone decent out of the 4-7, but to count on it is foolish IMO. The average NFL career is like 2 years. Thats because all of the 4-7 rounders suck and hang on as special teams people for a couple season and then go on to coach High School or sell insurance.

Right, but getting that special teams ace in rd 6 makes a difference

I think you need at least some depth out of the 4
