I really think this is going to be a double digit sack year for him.

I think he's a real talent but he'll be injured by week 4.

You're probably right about that. Last year, I went to Bears camp with my father and uncle, and we were wondering who it was that looked like Peppers and was tearing shit up. Turned out, Wooten. I knew he was on the team, but wondered why he hadn't made an impact. It's just as simple as he can't stay healthy for any time. When he's healthy, he's a monster. But that's like never. Extending him would be an extremely high risk/reward scenario.

What is the benefit of extending Wooten now? I like the kid alot, but I agree with Emery's stance on contracts.

when he gets 15 sacks this year and you have to deal with contracts for Melton, Cutler, Wooten and 10+ other guys after the super bowl as well as prepare for another excellent year of drafting it would be nice to have your young DE already wrapped up

If the Bears soundly beat the Packers both times they play them this year, they will win the Super Bowl.

Do you think the Bears will beat the Bengals in the season opener?

Yes. It will be a tight game. The Bengals have been banged up in the pre season at key positions and while those guys may be back, I don't think they will be in shape to go a full game in what will probably be summer heat.

Too late. Gone to Vikings. Personally I'd take Wooten over Ratliff+Izzy combo.
