I honestly don't think it would be a good thing for the Bears to do the show. Feel like it puts a little bit more of a target on their back if they get more hype.

The reason the McCaskeys dont want to do the show is because they all have a slight case of Aspergers and are just a socially awkward group of people that love the behind the scenes power of owning the Bears and getting the big checks. Without doing much else, such as something like Hard Knocks.

The entire organization has still never created anything to really bring back long time Chicago vets into the fold. So many ex players live in this city still, yet have zero affiliation with the Bears. yes, I know last year they did the 'Welcoem back Ditka thing" and I agree its a start.

An unwillingness to maximize the popularity of this team has plagued them for years and it all comes back to an inability to deal with people.

The Bears are the NFL's #1 market. Yes, NYC is a bigger market but the fan base gets split between teams. There is a reason this team is on National TV 5 times this year and I know the radio ratings for Bears games do better than any market.

All that and they play in the smallest stadium, which is rented! If that fact alone doesnt show you how inept the Mccaskeys are, I guess we dont see eye to eye on this one.

Never saw the show. Can't imagine Bears coaching staff would make it very interesting. Cutler would grunt and smirk. by default it would turn into the brandon marshall show.

well, we know Favrey has never started a thread that had already been started somewhere else. It's just unpossible.

Half of NYC's tri-state area is still bigger than all of Chicago's, though it's not like the two teams there have anything approaching a 50/50 split. I can't argue with anything else you wrote (except maybe the entire McCaskey family being on the autism spectrum. Don't ascribe to autism what can be more readily ascribed to incompetence), particularly the folly of playing in a such a tiny dump of a stadium.

I can't see the Bears winding up with Hard Knocks either. While I know the NFL said they can foist it upon anyone they want now, I feel like the McClaskys still have too much juice with the league to let that happen. That kind of look at the Bears goes against the secretiveness, insularity, and low profile that to me really define the Chicago Bears.

sold a building owned by a funeral home family. 4 story building on Lincoln. It was there old funeral home in the 70's, they since moved on to Belmont and had a larger space. They were expanding again, when they chose to sell the older building that was there original home.

I have the listing, I meet some people there for a showing, open the door, turn on the light, and there are 6 bodies!!! They were using the old prep room for the month, while they expanded and they forgot to tell me.

I am not going to post any pics to remember that lovely moment.

Great family, great guy, I just hated going to his office for meetings, always mega creepy in his old or new place.

The only JUICE the Mcclaskeys still hold is that der commish, would probably respect ginny enough to not force her to do the show.

Once she passes, I see the league having a talk with them about a REAL new facility.

the league gave the Bears $100 mill for this last dump. can only imagine what they would do for a DOME!

Shit when she croaks they'll have to sell because of the taxes.

I think they might have covered that already,as I know the shares the team have been distributed amongst the extended family. However, none of those shares are voting shares. She still holds 100% of the voting rights of the team.

That includes Pat Ryans 15%.

Now, I don't know if the family or the organization itself has any ROFR to buy the shares back when she dies, but if you owned 1% of the team and got a check each year for $20,000, or Pat Ryan offers you $2 mill for your shares, the question is how many Mccaskeys will sell those shares. *explained to me by tax attorney, don't know if all true, but a lawer would never lie.

Yeah, that's what it would come down to, though for some reason I imagined Nice Polite Michael being the one nicely, politely requesting not to do it.

It's so weird how the Bears seem to think they're in, like, the actuarial science business and not the "dudes tryin' to kill each other" business. Their veneer of faux-gentility is so creepy. The Giants are like that too, kinda, but not so much that they're afraid to hire screamy football lifers like Tom Coughlin while we're on our third consecutive Anti-Ditka.

I don't think Mccaskey has any pull @ all...wasn't there an owners meeting some years back with a dozen or so owners invited. IN CHICAGO n they weren't invited.amped up for the season .
I would love the bears on Hardknocks, I'm already amped up for the season .
