Have to assume the phone has rang at Earls house today with a call from the Bears.

The guys is a classic 3rd or 4th WR, he knows the offense, very good friends with Jay.

of course there is that little matter of them asking him to take a salary cut, he said no, then they released him.

Just guessing Vet minimum is $900K for earl? He asks for $1.5, just my guess.

Zaidman, with one of his rare good thoughts, said he thinks Earl's concussion issues are why he hasn't been picked up by anybody. He said for the Browns to release him must show you he's not right.

Why not. I think the only things holding him back are the concussion history and higher salary he had with the Bears. If no one else wants him, go for it at minimum salary.

Yeah. They'll sign him. Then they'll cut him in 4 weeks when better WRs are cut by their teams for cap reasons.

Ok. Sign him. But same rule applies. Better WRs will be available in 4 weeks. So he'll be cut.

There's a reason Holmes and Bennett aren't in camps right now. But the Bears need to have a body for practices.

It's not so much the age; it's the fact that he's been dumped by two different teams for being an assbag, and one of those teams was the fucking Jets. Trestman better be a combination of Bill Walsh and Jimmy Carter if he's planning on putting Cutler, Marshall, Bennett, and Holmes in the same huddle.

I believe Holmes is coming off and injury and is just beginning to fully heal.

Bennett had difficulty staying healthy and holding on to the ball in his last couple of years here.

If all you are looking for is a possession guy, there are better choices.
