Newspapers reporting the Bears have to make a decision about whether to put him on the 53 man active roster in the next week. The article I read said he's been doing some slight running, and he's traveled with the team the last two weeks. Fox is still non-committal on him.

It would be cool if he came back just as the Bears are getting hot. However, suiting up is one thing, actually contributing following a serious injury is another.

I would rather him sit out and use his spot on a new kick/punt returner.

How about use the current KR/PR spot for a new KR/PR?

Keep him out. If he plays, he might ruin our draft position.

I have a feeling they might hang on to Mariani for WR.

I had actually forgotten the Bears wasted a first round pick on an injured player.

Might be a good idea to break him in as a punt returner....not like we are good in that position right now....

Kickoff returner , dont need the rook looking up as a guy is plowing him in the chest.

put him on the active roster. even if he plays in one game it will give him an idea of what this is all about.

Most NFL players say Wide Receiver is takes the longest to adapt to in the league over any other position.. Get him in there and learn the offense asap.

Most NFL players think purchasing a house for their mother that they won't be able to afford after getting cut in three years is a good idea too.

Wait, I thought we're making a playoff run here?

If there is any chance he might re-injure himself, then he should sit until next year. But if the risk is minimal, he should play, if for no other reason than to get experience for next year, when the whole team will be much better.

Bears should win the division next year.

There is no way to know yet if they wasted a pick.

I would not risk putting him in at any point in a season that isn't going anywhere.

I read from somebody who's in sports medicine on another board that White's injury has no added risk of being aggravated. Once he's healed he has the same likelihood of a stress fracture in his shin as everyone else (that is to say its low). The issue would be mental, and that favoring his other leg or being overly cautious over his shin would lead him to injure something else.

So I dont know. Nobody other than Kevin White and maybe the Bears training staff knows. I'd like to see him play, but if he needs more rehab to trust that shin again then whatever. Let him sit all year.

Putting him in there would probably bring the return of Bad Cutler. Let him heal the rest of the year.
