At least 2 of those losses were Bad coaching decisions.

There's a two-word statement for that post ...

Exactly.

It sucks that Gould missed that kick, but it should have not come to that. The fact that the defense let that QB beat them is horrible.

Listening the OB/Hamp/Koz rebroadcast. OB spent the break before overtime asking why the Bears don't throw into the end zone, and when the 49ers scored the winning TD I thought he was going to go join Doug.

Blame the coaches

Not allowed. All-star coaching staff. They've turned this team around. 5 straight wins to finish the season. Wild card bound.

Sure they've only beaten one good team (who was playing poorly for several weeks), have lost to a few really bad ones and have looked solid on both sides of the ball exactly once. But that goes against the local media's accepted meme.

Who's the good team they beat? The one that is 2-4 in their last six, 1-5 if it wasn't for a game winning Hail Mary on a play that never should have happened?

Might have started with worse rosters, Bears were pretty banged up on offense this year.. The pick six fucked us and Gould with 2 missed field goals sealed the deal...overall Fix has done a pretty nice job and Fangio is as good as it gets as a DC ... Bears should win 10 us next year.

The defensive resurgence has coincided nicely with a string of struggling offenses. They are better than last year though. 10 wins? Not a chance.

And that's the whole point. Due to coaching, the Bears are a better team than last year. Beating crappy teams is significant because the Bears were a crappy team only last year, so the next step is to separate themselves from crappy teams this year and become more competitive against better teams next year. I think they're on their way once White gets back and you get an infusion of talent over the summer. Relative to expectations, the Bears are having a better year than the Packers.

I know everyone is concentrating on Gould and the bad defense in overtime but this was also a great example of the issue with a QB that takes up so much cap space that you have relegated into an extreme game manager. It made him look like he was playing better, even though he really wasn't, but it is one of the major reasons why this season is looking to be another lost one. It's just a really horrible position. A player who can't win you a game but is being paid as a guy who must win you games for it to be worth it. It's a true no mans land at quarterback and likely to continue next year.

It's going to be fascinating to see what happens though. Pace seems to have actually done a good job with drafting for the first year but ultimately his time with the Bears will be decided by his decision on Cutler. If they choose to keep him though he would have to be much more productive than he has been.

Agreed, I believe Fox knows Cutler blows and he's looking forward to getting Cousins or Manual here. The defense gave up 20 in 4plus quarters ..this loss is not on the D. What Cutler throw for yesterday? 190 yards ..bad

The losses to the Lions, Vikings and now 49ers can be blamed squarely on John Fox. It's easy to see why Elway let him walk because he's a mediocre coach. After the 74-yd return the Bears should have been thinking end zone but they went conservative again and lost the game.

If Cutler gets picked on the 2 yd line it's just as good as a punt and gives the D a chance for a safety, pick 6 or at least good field position for the offense.

Benching Cutler is idiotic and they can find another kicker any day now. Gould's shit-stain.

If the Bears "go for the endzone" the turnover risk goes through the roof. What would be saying if Cutler threw a pick with :55 left deeo in SF territory?

They had a chip shot game-winning FG for the taking and they took it.

Disagree.. They played it perfect, ran the ball and ate up the clock and gave their kicker a chip shot.
