Would look great playing safety for the Bear in 2016 and beyond.

Make it happen Mr. Pace.

Not sure how much Donte has left, but might as well take a flyer on him.

I believe he was graded the worst starting safety in the league.

your classic veteran cut scenario where a guy known to most NFL fans is cut and because they've heard of him that means he's still good and my team should sign him.

last two times the bear signed an older safety with name recognition we got antrell rolle (too cool to jump to pick that bridgewater pass off in that viking game) and adam archeluta.

ironically, this signing may actually happen if fangio thinks he can get anything close to the guy who made a name for himself in fangio's 49er D.

C'mon guys, it's called the internet. You can look up the same stuff and actual post informed responses.

From PFF

Whitner is coming off a solid year, posting 81 tackles in 14 games and grading as PFF's No. 24 safety. The Browns are cleaning house in their secondary, cutting Whitner and failing to re-sign Tashaun Gipson. Entering his age-31 season, Whitner won't struggle for interest as the top available safety behind Reggie Nelson.
