That's the truth. I was wrong in saying that yesterday.

Here was the scenario in his mind. 49ers are telling him they're getting offers. Could be a lie. Maybe not. He knows it could be a lie. But he said, "Fuck it, since I don't know, I'm gonna get my guy." Cuz it's the QB he likes. And you need a QB in this NFL. The QB he thinks can be the guy for 10 plus years.

So that's why he made the trade. Cuz there is no way to know if they are not being truthful. And he'd be kicking himself if he was wrong against betting against the bluff.

He didn't want to lose on his guy. So if he got bluffed, in his mind, so be it.

Good for the 49ers if they got him. Pace was saying that to himself. But he didn't care.

But that's not being an idiot. That's just insuring against the unknown. It's as simple as that.
