Why is everybody in a rush to run Howard of town? He's making 600k. Our biggest weakness is tight end. This team can go to the SB with an upgrade at tight end. Pick up a back in the 5th round to replace Howard.

Howard will be making north of 2 million this year. Incentives have kicked in.

His salary is 687k no?

This is what makes not signing Kareem Hunt that much more frustrating. His base salary is $645,000. You could have traded Howard for what I'm guessing will be a 4th at best, saved money and not have had to go into the draft thinking WE HAVE TO DRAFT A RB.

Just stupid all around.

Good for Howard, he's earned that money. Bad for the Bears because he's probably not going to be worth it.

Agreed on Hunt, it was a no brainer.. I think the bears were gonna get there eventually..they just moved too slow. I believe they thought they could take their time and grab him. They underestimated the other front offices with balls who don't give a fuck about the PR hit.

If you think Kareem Hunt will be playing in the first 4-8 weeks next year, then I'm not sure you understand why the Bears wouldn't or didn't sign him.

You should try and be more condescending when you post.

I'm fully aware that he won't be playing for part of the year. Considering they won 12 games with Cohen and a guy they can't wait to get rid of, I'm sure they could have figured something out until that time came. They're going to be hard pressed to find a back who scored 25 TDs in 27 games who is already familiar with Nagy's offense, especially at the salary Hunt is getting.

You pick on Aunt Ginny and her people, you get it right back.

You can't go into a season with Cohen and Mizzell. And there is NO guarantee Hunt will even be allowed to play next year.

The Browns have a fall back if Hunt doesn't play. Most NFL teams including the Bears, do not.

It's difficult for me to chide the Bears for the Kareem Hunt thing. First off, how many games can he even play in 2018? 8, 4? If you are a team that is in a position to "contend" like the Bears are, how can you go in with RB situation in flux like that? Had the Browns not jumped in, I think the Bears would have eventually signed Hunt once his suspension thing was solved.

I'd be confident that Hunt is playing week 5

There is no fucking way he's only getting 4 games, no way. Zeke got 6 games and they didn't even have a video.

The McCaskey's bulldog broke the leash!

Who said anything about Mizzell? Do you think that the Bears would go with only Mizzell and Cohen if/when they trade Howard? And yes, the Bears have a fall back. It's Cohen and whoever replaces Howard. And since they seem determined to get rid of Howard, that tells me they think he's easily replaceable.

You could have had a #1 running back for less than one million dollars next year. Name me a better running back you could have for that price. And I'm guessing he'll be playing next year.

And I did I see you reference a Caller Bob post to support your argument? You're now a fan of his work? And if you can't read the difference between your response and Bob's, to use your own words, "then I'm not sure you understand".

I'll pass, but would enjoy the outrage from Herb, JDC, and others.

Caller Bob is a fucking dipshit if he believes that Hunt could be eligible for 4 games. A 12 game suspension after a 2 gamer( plus post season) is unheard of. He'll be playing by October 7th.. book it

The games Hunt missed in 2018 won't count as "dates served" 312

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000 ... suspension

Quote:
Since penalties for two incidents aren't likely to be served independently of each other -- and because the clock on a suspension doesn't begin when a player is on the Reserve/Commissioner Exempt List -- Hunt could sit out not only the rest of the 2018 season, but well into the 2019 season.

Stop bringing a knife to a gun fight 312... And stick to picking on FavreFan

You just got TKO’ed here 312.

Try not to get up and take your anger out on any females in your vicinity.

Hey, easy pal.

And I will definitely point out Caller Bob's stellar work and analysis when it appears once a year.

I think the contract Hunt signed tells you everything you need to know about where he and the gms of the league think the NFL will be going with a suspension.
