I loved the way Bush looked in the preseason but the Packers scored on the series he replaced Ha Ha. He was was late helping Prince and got boxed out in the endzone by Graham.

I think all football fans got a taste last night of how problematic PI review is going to be for your enjoyment of the game

It was a great challenge by LaFleur.

Bears were finally on a roll (relatively speaking) and that challenge stopped it in its tracks.

We got 1st and 40 a few plays later. Even cheating on Madden I don't think I've ever seen a 1st and 40.

could the refs have reviewed that and made a determination that there was defensive PI even though it was the defender review?

If they are going to have this, they should make the reviewing team have to face some jeopardy so that it is not abused

because that was defensive PI

Regardless of the outcome....I can't get over that here we are in another year and the overall NFL product continues to regress.

2 teams that both looked unprepared, and not ready for prime time football
Too many penalties
Too many reviews

The game is at an all time slow speed. Every play requires a description of some kind of rule. it's awful. Yes..I know the league is at it's most profitable but I watch less and less every year....it's not a good product on the field.

For as many of the old time Hockey fans complain about the state of the NHL.....they should be very thankful they're not the NFL.

The league already suffered from the arbitrary nature of the way PI and holding is called. Now we get to sit through reviews of PI, and we will surely find that the officials have no idea how to call it.

I'm just going to enjoy this season before holding becomes reviewable next year

What would the penalty have been? He caught the pass and it was a 1st down.

I assume he meant that it would have been defensive PI if the ball had been dropped. But it raises the question...can a team use a challenge to claim PI on a caught pass just to stop the clock?

I think it's obvious based on last night that yes you can.

the preseason challenge stats indicated the PI needs to be blatantly obvious for a call to be reversed rather than just borderline.

No shit.....my God, this could very well be a thing some day.

At this point, they might as well just put an official(s) in the booth and have them overturn / review stupid calls on the field.

I hate coaches being able to challenge plays or calls.

Pro football has really become pretty much unwatchable. I gave up watching pro basketball a couple of years ago and football might even be worse. The NFL commissioner, the players union, and the owners have ruined it. Even the so-called "musical entertainment" is pathetic. I'd guarantee that 75% of the people in the stands do not identify with these singers and "musicians" that they trot out there.

The Bear's tackles are one of the worst pair in the entire league. I've been saying this for the last five years or more. The interior of the line is good but clearly the league knows that the tackles have lousy footwork and good DEs can run around them easily.
