Let's face it. Floyd does nothing but stand around looking like Tarzan and playing like Jane.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is no Watson or Mahomes.

Miller just sucks imo.

And Montgomery could be good, but Matt Nagy has approximately ZERO interest in using him, except as a receiver.

I won't lie. I haven't been impressed with Pace since Day 1.

People wanted to hand him the keys to the city for acquiring Mack, but anyone paying attention knows that was a last ditch desperation hail Mary, because all of a sudden it dawned on Pace and the coaches in early August that they had ZERO pass rushers.

And don't even get me started on the time Pace outbid HIMSELF for Mike stinking Glennon.

I'll give credit where it's due though. He has had a knack for mid and late round picks....though as much as I love Cohen, how did he and the rest of the NFL totally sleep on Matt 22 MPH Brieda in that very same draft???

But Pace and his "go get him" idealogy on draft day right now is looking pretty questionable to BAD.

No team has had fewer draft picks over the last 3 years than the Bears (17). I'm sorry, but sustainable championship football is NOT found in that fashion. It just isn't.

Pace is a very good drafter who fucked up taking (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky over Mahomes. He's a little too eager to trade up but I'd rather have that than being too shy.

People fail to understand the Glennon deal even today. It was a risk-free gamble and pretty shrewd.

What I fail to understand from the Glennon deal was how the Vikings knew Case Keenum was better and signed him for peanuts while we set up Glennon for life with 18 million GUARANTEED. Case led the Vikings to the NFC title game that year. Glennon lead the Bears to a 1-3 record before heading to the bench.

Not sure how paying a guy 2x as much as you needed to could be considered shrewd.

because it was basically a one-year deal since none of the money in years two or three were guaranteed. the 2017 free agent class was ass anyways, Gilmore was the only decent player and for some reason the Bears didnt want him (he sure wanted the Bears). It wound being fine because Fuller figured it out and Pace held onto him so whatever.

at some level you dont really know how these guys will look until they see action as a starter. If Glennon came in and looked good the Bears would have a huge trade asset that they could sell off for a big suite of draft picks. And all it cost them was $15m they didn't want to spend elsewhere. Can you name one negative of the Glennon deal that is affecting the Bears now? What are the lasting consequences?

I already mentioned the one negative. If Pace had A SINGLE clue about QBs, we would have signed Case Keenum instead for $8.73 cents and have probably the best backup QB in football right now.

So there's that.

I'm not sure we'd be much better off with Keenum.

Knowing the offense is important. Case Keenum would have been further behind than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky learning the offense.

Its ridiculous to say Ryan Pace is a bad draft day GM because he signed Mike Glennon instead of Case Keenum.

I mean he's no world beater, but the dude can give you 3tds and 300yds on almost ANY given Sunday.

He'd most certainly an upgrade from Daniel.

We're 2-0 without (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky right now with Keenum. No doubt

Pace doesn't seem to have much of a knack for drafting offensive players.

Signing Daniel was a Nagy move, though.

But hiring Nagy was another Pace move trending in the wrong direction. It will be telling to see how the Bears perform following the bye. Nagy didn't have them ready last time around.

I liked when they tried to take athletic tackles and teach them how to play football. It didn't work but I liked the thought.

Jeff George at age 51 could probably play better than either of our QBs at this point.

Pace has had too many busts already: Glennon, White, Floyd and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. In no other organization would he still have a job.

Not a chance.

Pace has had some very, very good drafts but his star his hitched to (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky for better or worse.

Remember how everyone in the media was saying Pace would lose his job if (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was a bust? Don't hear that now though. Bunch of excuse makers like Hub happy with mediocre teams

My goodness. This team is DOOMED if we are down to talking about Case Fucking Keenum being the answer to the QB situation.

After considerable thought, I have decided. The fault of the offensive thus far is due to the shittiness of the offensive line. They can't run block and they can't protect the quarterback on pass plays without incurring penalties. Everything else is fixable going forward but until this offensive line gets improved, the success of the Bears is going to depend on turnovers, field position, and the defense in general.

You're letting Matt "Be You" Nagy and his absolutley HORRID play calling off the hook too easy.

Maybe. We will see what adjustments that he makes with the offense after the bye. If they do not get (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky back, though, his options are very limited because Daniels is just a game manager while (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has proven he can change the game with his athleticism. This, to me, is the key to the entire season. Somehow (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and Nagy have got to get together on an offense which somehow compensates for the bad offensive line that they have. If (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky doesn't play down the road, this is an 8-8 team and we have to wait for next year. It is as simple as that to me.
